Castor oil....???

I know of the side effects,  was just wondering if any mothers on here have tried it & what your experiences were. This is my third baby & nothing so far has worked. With my first walking & swimming did the trick, with my second sex worked, & now my third nothing is working so far & this is my last resort. Thank you!

Yay!! Good for you hunny!! I don't know if I've progressed further than 1cm & 50% effaced & i won't know til my appointment on monday... I'm hoping for some good news then :) I'd say, for those reading this post wondering if it works or not, it's a hit & miss. It'll make you poop but it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, & it will cause some stronger Braxton hicks for a short time. Or you could be like the others in their story & go into full blown labor. Either way, you'll get some relief from it. Good luck!!

It worked in giving me stronger Braxton hicks, that are more frequent. But then I started cleaning & did the whole house top to bottom again & they slowed down. I took 2 table spoons last night & took two more about three hours ago & I'm still only having Braxton hicks. Nothing painful, just really strong tightening. I think it's helping push things along though. This method works differently on people. My family members all told me not to because they tried it & just got sick, I'm stubborn & tried it anyway, & so far it's doing more for me than it did any of them.

I took it for constipation when I was pregnant with my first son and it didn't make me sick or have a upset stomach i ended up going into labor a few hours later. My contractions weren't painful at all but kept getting closer and closer when they got 3 minutes apart I went to l&d. Good luck momma :)

They aren't painful at all though that's why I'm calling them bh. & i have been eating, then started cleaning the house & now they have stopped almost completely.... ill try it again in a little bit just to see if anything happens. I haven't puked at all, & pooped a little but I needed to anyways :) thank you all for being so positive! I'm excited!!

Thank you!! & congratulations!!! If nothing happens tonight, I'll take more tomorrow night. I'll take it nice & slow. I don't feel sick, nor have I had any bowel movements.  Keeping my fingers crossed, cause if this doesn't work than I'm out of options until my doctor induces me, which happened with my first & it was horrible!!

I took it 3/9 @9am and 8pm... 2tbsp with oj eaxh time.... no diarrea or vomiting- just had 3 bowel movements. My water broke at 4am on today 3/10 and had my baby girl at 12:49 afternoon. No meconium.... if you research very well you will find that its not bad ...baby can inhale meconium at any point in pregnancy past 39 weeks. Always safe to take small amounts then a big dose at once to see how your body reacts. Good luck :)

I've been 1cm & 50% effaced for over a week now. Nothing else I've tried has never worked. My doctor okay me taking just two tablespoons because I've been blocked up anyways.

I took 4oz with a can of coke I bounced on my ball took a walk then took a shower and my baby was born 7 hours later healthy as can be, but it won't work if baby is not ready to come out

I've done extensive reading on it and in my opinion it's not worth taking. Severeral research papers say that it gives you random contractions which is obviously no help to progressing your actual labor. Plus the risks that come with it.

The only experiences I've heard of have been nagative. Baby passed poop in uterus and baby in distress. Up to you if you know the risks.
