already mommas ? about baby food

My daughter is 3 months and I give her little licks off my finger of this and that. I was thinking getting 2-3 jars baby food and giving her little bites throughout the day. Is it too early??

Twinsohlord that is super dangerous!!! Babies aren't supposed to have meats until at least 9 months and no eggs until 1 year due to allergies. I'm also a PEDs nurse and our drs don't like the idea of feeding solids before 6 months. Rice cereal around 4-5 months is okay but no fruits and veggies until 6 months. Baby still needs to be getting almost all their calories from formula. Also veggies are best to start with first, the easiest are sweet potatoes and squash.

Its fine. My daughter was eating baby food at 3 months old. She refused the cereals tho but she's 19 months and is fine. Just do one kind at a time and see how she does and to watch for allergies specially if food allergies run in your family

Aww, I know its to early to give baby food but around 4 to 5 months I would give my baby some licks as well. You know your baby more than anything but just make sure you feed him his milky :)

Yes thats actually fine. Im currently a nurse for a pediatrician and there are people who start feeding their kids younger than 4 months due to the fact that formula isnt filling them up as much and constantly have to be feed almost evry hour or so. Make sure you start with rice cereal and then vegetables before you start feeding fruits. Otherwise kids get used to the sweetness and wont eat vegetables as easily :)

That's whe. You use it as a thickener in the bottle. I used it for my son at the end because I stopped nursing at 9 months and he couldnt tolerate the formula. The doctor had me use rice cereal to thicken the fornula so it would sit in his tummy better. It also is used to make the baby get better rest because it takes longer to digest. The rice cereal you just heat up like oatmeal for a while for them to get used to having to digest thicker food. So like i think i did atleast a month but it deoends on what your pediatrician says. Then after a while you just feed them the fruit seperatley. So maybe apples for breakfast and a bowel of cereal for dinner. It's so fun once they start eating! Specially around 9 months because they have special dinners for them. Loved getting him some things new to eat. lol

See that's where I get confused bc her pediatrician told me to only use rice cereal if I need her to fall asleep on a heavy tummy

Ya. You start at 4-6 months with rice ceareal. Its whe. Around 6 months you start foods. It has to be the same food for a week before you give them anything else. So they say fruit first now. So start with a jar of apples everyday for a week with cereal. After a week of apples you can start another food for a whole week. It's to watch for any tolerances or allergies to certain food as well as gradually letting th digestive system get used to breaking down different foods.

Its not good to start table food before 4-6 months. Their digestive system isn't mature enough for it yet.
