Does stopping Labor last?

I went into labor 2 days ago. Im 34 weeks & they gave me a shot that was supposed to stop it. I'm still contracting every hour, just not a lot.
Has anyone ever had their labor stopped, and if so, how long did it stop for?

I had mine stopped 3 times over 2wks at 27wks. First time they gave me the steroid shots and morphine, antibiotics and something in an iv. Next they tried diazepam to relax my uterus and a different antibiotic and 3rd time they put me on nifedipine and bedrest. I'm now 31wks and still on nifedipine and bed rest and still have cramps and contractions every day but nothing regular. So there are a couple of different things they can try but I guess it depends on what triggered the preterm labour.

They wont stop my labor with the shot again, because it made my heart rate went up so quick and took forever to go back down, is there anything else they could do?

I had my labor stopped twice at 32 weeks and now im 40+1. My doc gave me these pills to help relax my uterus, they helped alot but I stopped taking them at 34 weeks because I felt I was taking to many meds. I had two shots to stop my labor plus the steroid shots. I was also on bed rest
