group b strep
I am 37 weeks and last thursday i was tested for the group b strep and they said it would take about a week to get the results back, i have another doc appt this thursday and im assuming they will tell me the results then but i have a few questions that i forgot to ask my doc.
I was just wondering if group b strep is something that you just get when pregnant sometimes? How do you get it? Is it like a STD? Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you! Ive never heard of it before and when my doc explained it i didnt really understand him very well. I asked him if it was like a STD and he just confused me even more by his reply so i had no clue what to think.
It's not an STD! It's just an infection some pregnant women get and needs to be treated during labor. It's not something you can prevent it just happens.
