This is my fourth pregnancy an on my last 3 births I was on my bk..bt av been wounderin if its ok to squat?..I have really bad spd this time so am very worried about giving birth on my bk an sideways jst does' nt seem like it would help so think am gonna give it a try this time an hopefully its not to bad.
Ima make an ob appoint and ask about this because I wanted to have water birth but the hospital dont do them so I should at least be able to squat
I wanted to try the squatting position for labor but I keep forgetting to ask my Dr.
Im a FTM this pregnancy. A friend of my mothers told the doctors and nurses she would NOT lay down. Of course she had to sacrifice the pain medications but it was her second delivery and she said being able to stay up and walk off the waves of pain she did not push except ONE time. She said she just felt it in her body that that was THE PUSH. She squatted, pushed, and the doc held hands out under and helped the mother catch her baby. She delivered her own child. I have full intention of NOT laying down and delivering exactly this way.
Haha that makes a lot of sense! Just one question, how was your fitness condition on that time? I mean, wasn't it hard to keep your legs like that?
I guess the pool situation made it easier too. I think I will try that position this time :) thanks
I have. Its more natural. We aren't meant to shove things out sideways, otherwise stoilets would be built into walls, not floors. Laying down makes labor harder and more painful on women while making the doctors job easier and stress free.
I was in a sort of squatting position with my son, but in a birthing pool. He was facing the wrong way and came out with a huge stretched head, it didnt hurt. I would say it helped. Its a position my midwide recommeded at the time.
