i was very small when i got preggo with ds, i weighed 105lbs. 5'4" and ds was in the 90th percentile, but when i gave birth he weighed 5 1/2 lbs. and was almost 20in. long, not to big but the labor was no problem!!!!!!!!
i won't be having anymore scans mumita, that was the last one. i've had 4 scans and baby has measured big on each. i now know he's bigger than my last baby and as i had so much trouble in labour with him i'm unwilling to take a bigger risk this time.
I think that's something that you should decide later on in pregnancy when you are more sure of what your baby will be measuring.
my 1st was 7lbs 6 ozs, second 6lbs 9 1/2 ozs and my third was 8lbs 13ozs. it was only the last one that caused me problems and i'm shocked this one's actually bigger. i'm due 9th august.
i don't know if they'll give me one simply because i'm requesting one but i called the hospital earlier and will make my wishes clear tomorrow when the midwife there calls me back...i really hope i get a c section because i think me and baby will struggle if left to try a vaginal birth. lol at the tummy tuck, i'll be sure to ask for mine.
I am glad everything went well at your scan, I know you have had a scary past 4 months. I dont know too much about c-sections because I have never had one. My boys were all around average weight (7 lbs) My 1st two had really large heads at birth (95%) and I never need any stiches (weird) But my last was my smallest weighing on 6 lbs 12 oz with an average head (50%) and I needed stiches, only a a few but I thought it was funny:) I would definitrly opt for a c-section if I had had problems with delivery the way you have. Will your doctor give you one for just requesting it?? I would love to have one this time around as long as they promise they will give me a tummy tuck at the same time, lol! I highly doubt it though:(
Yeah, i'd agree its probably your best option. I mean a lot of times with big baby's women will attempt a delivery but then end up in c section anyways. So why not go the safest, quickest route. When are you due? Just curious.. and how big was your first baby?
thanks, i think i probably will have a c section...knowing how hard the last birth was and that this guy's much bigger, just seems the safest option.
I had a elective c section with my first because my health was suffering. I didn't do so well on the operating table, but that is cause of my health. My recovery was wonderful. I felt great the day after i got out of the hospital, was even running errands. When you have a c section you have to stay in 3 days usually to make sure your stitches heal properly, you don't get a infection or blood clot. I'm having a c section with #2 at the end of june. If I was you and all your babies tend to be bigger. I'd probably elect with a c section as well. Can't blame you. Good luck
