And again with the maternity leave pay, it depends on where you live. Not all states require your employer to pay you while on leave. I think people often forget different states have different laws.
Just get a dr note and to the first comment, pregnancy is not protected in all states. In some states if your employer feels you cannot preform your duties at work due to pregnancy you can be let go or laid off for it. You have to look up the laws in your state to find out. I live in Iowa where it is not protected. But as a hairdresser you would be able to work just may have to wear a mask or something
I'd tell them kinda soon.. The fumes aren't good for the baby especially when u spend so much time around them. They can't fire you by law. Honestly I wouldn't continue to work there at least not without a face cover to protect from the fumes.. But that's my personal opinion
You have to give him 8 week notice of date when u want maternity leave as for pay you should get it since u worked for them 2 years it will be a portion of what u make now.. And your Dr will help u apply for maternity leave they should give u paperwork at least my Dr helps...
Thanks and what do you think about maternity pay for an apprentice do they legally have to pay me as im employed by them. I am going to work up until last few weeks x
And you should ask your Dr for a note..
You should be able to work up until u have baby just no pushing pulling lifting nothing over 25 pounds.. And as for the chemical try and use a small face mask.. U can tell ur boss when u feel comfortable he can't fire u or change your hours..
Id go ahead and get a note from your doctor saying what you're not allowed to do and tell your boss. By law you cannot be fired or discriminated against for being pregnant especially if you have doctors orders.
