It's not true that your cervix is low until you're effacing. With this baby and my first it's held hard and high. And that's was true for every woman I encountered during my OB rotation in nursing school. I'm not completely opposed to self-checking, but regularly checking yourself does not mean that you know what you are doing.
OP, try not to worry yourself. It'll be a frustrating two days of waiting, I'm sure, but you'll know soon enough :)
Just Jayy yes thank you lol clean hands are good
I agree with blessedwbaby2 checking your cervix Is perfectly fine as long as your hands are clean and you know what you are doing.
Ladies checking yourself is wonderful. A dr is allowed to put their finger up there and a man is allowed to put his penis up there but we are not taught to do it ourself. Its pur body. I also do self checks. Yes your cervix will be very low till it starts to efface then it will feel higher and higher until its gone and you're pushing the baby out. My cervix also is low and slightly open feeling but that's normal. Good job on taking control!
It's due to the risk of introducing bacteria to the cervix and potential to cause yourself unnecessary stress that it isn't suggested. Masturbation is safe unless you're told not to because you're not going at your cervix.
They will measure your cervix when you get your ultrasound and you can ask your OB about said measurements when they discuss your results with you.
To be fair it's not like I'm really poking and prodding at it I would probably do more damage if I masterbated which as far as I was aware I could still do when I was pregnant as it is very low as I said. I am having an early scan on Wednesday will mention it then
^^agreed, I wouldn't recommend self-checks. When is your next appointment?
You shouldn't be checking yourself. If you're concerned, ask your doctor.
