I only know because I had a cousin who had that and when my baby niece was sick, my mom was concerned it was the same thing. No weight gain or having weight loss can also be a sign of CF. Let me know how it goes, All the best.
Is he otherwise happy and same as ever? Is it spitting up, or vomitting? Sometimes my son (17 weeks tomorrow) goes through phases (a day or two) where he spits up all the time, sometimes quite a bit, but is otherwise feeling and acting fine. I'd ask the doctor, but don't worry too much at this point......I do have to mention though that my son is breastfed, so if yours has formula maybe that has something to do with it?......
Sometimes the answer is a lot simpler before trying to diagnose the baby with some other more serious issue. Maybe he is gulping up too much air in his feedings and he may need to be burped more time. He would be very gassy and in pain if he had acid reflux. He may also need to have some cereal or something heavier in his stomach than just formula.
If he is sick, he would have other symptoms like fever that accompany the spit ups.
Chances are it's acid reflux.... try propping up one end of his crib with a book - about an inch or so, and put his head at that end. Also, when laying him flat on the floor roll up one of his cloths (so it's about 3/4") and put it under his head. This will generally keep them from throwing up when they are lying down. If he is doing it lots when he is upright, then I have no clue......
What kind of formula is your baby on? Might be lactose intolerance and the baby might need soy formula. My son did too. Good luck!
a lot of babies now a days have acid reflux and what you are describing sounds like it. I would just ask the doctor and they can prescribe a med like zantac that is safe for the baby to take a couple times a day and it helps. my lil cousin had it.
thank you i will for sure ask my doctor i didint even think about that...
Go to the doctor. I dont mean to worry you but this is common in babies that have cystic fibrosis. (I think I spelled it wrong but CF anyways) Ask your doctor for a sweat test to check for CF. Keep me updated.
All the best.
It could be some sort of acid reflux?
