update

So I went to the doctors yesterday, she checked my cervix and ... I'm not in labor, my cervix isn't opened but my baby's head is real low(he's ready to come out lol) she put one finger in there (gently) and boop she felt his head she said lol . she said its a -1 what ever that means lol but I just can't wait till my lil mans gets here.

My baby girl was headdown at my appointment they took a swab for me and I told her to check and see if im dilated at tool she didnt use her fingers she used a speculum but she said its closed so my baby girl is in a ready position its just her choice when she choose to come in to the world and meet her mommy and daddy and the rest of the family :-)

Well I know when I was in the hospital my cervix was only 3cm long & its suppose to be 4cm long

-1 is the position of the baby. You start at -3 and go from there to 0. When you're at 0 then your baby starts to move further into the cervix to position +3 which is when baby is engaged and ready. Those numbers are for the baby's position to move into the cervix. Then there's dilation which you go from 0-10 and at 10 is delivery! :)

Maybe she meant that your cervix was still thick.
