I'm trying to apply for cash assistance will they want me to put my baby daddy on child support. In order for me to get it

In New Jersey they tried but I wasn't applying for cash. I was applying for food stamps. Thats all I needed help with. She tried to talk me into getting the money to put him on child support and I told her no. He kept a roof over our heads I would've never did that. And would've declined the food stamps had she continued.

In California if the father is on birth certificate or even a name in general is on the certificate they will go after that person with or without ur consent. They feel if u want cash from them they will give it to u but want to be paid back by the father since its his legal responsibility to help provide for child. If ur asking for food stamps only then they dont bother about father. Good luck.

I'm in PA and they do try to make you. If you fight with them and just keep telling them you don't want child support from him then they will usually let it go. But thats here.
