birth certificate

I live in oregon and was wondering if any one else had a guy (not babys bio father) sign the birth certificate? And how it turned out with the bio father. My babys dad is a horrible person and i dont even want hm to know when my sons born. Im going to change my number and everything. My bf is a wonderful guy who has done way more already than my sons bio father, and my bf wants to sign. Im just not sure how to go about this so advice or stories would be helpful!

@kirdanielle if baby daddy asks for a paternity test after the bf signs the birth certificate the court is legally obligated to give baby daddy rights and be on the birth certificate. That's what we are trying to find ways around.

You might wanna check your state laws first.... here in Indiana you either take a paternity test or whomever signs the birth certificate is responsible for that child until they are 18 whether biological father or not.

Why don't you get a free lawyer consultation saying you don't know the real dad and see how much it would be for your bf to adopt the baby? So baby would be legally his child? Then you will have a ball park idea of how much it will cost If you can get douche guy to relinquish rights??

If your baby daddy is a horrible person then I think it would make things worse when he finds out that your boyfriend is on the birth certificate.. I understand you don't want your ex to have anything to do with you child but I personally don't think you should put your boyfriend on it what if down the road y'all break up.. I think you should leave the father section blank because that is better than putting your boyfriend on it

As long as you don't think bio dad will come after rights do it the way you want but otherwise you can get in trouble for knowingly falsifying a court document. Good luck baby girl

I'd let him go ahead and sign it. Is baby getting his last name?

Short story kinda fits.  me n my husband had separated for a yr and a half and during that time i had got with my 1st daughters bio father. After we stopped talking he became a very sneaky and vandictive person.. One day he wanted her next day he didn.  well when i was about 4 months along with her my husband and i reunited and he has been here for me and her ever since. When it came to her birth cirtificate since we were married the state wanted me to put my husbands name   but as ashdub said if nio father takes u to court they will change it. As much as my husband wanted to and deserved to be on her birth cirtificate we left the fathers information blank or refused. The doner cant really complain bc noone is on it
