For already moms...

How many of you have sent your little one to preschool???... My son is four and a half and it is really depressing me not being able to send him. I researched schools and even picked one out but I don't have the one or a means to get him back and forth. I'm in school four days a week and will be in school before he would go and past when he gets out. My mom who's watches him is 30 minutes away from the only school I could find. On top of it the absolute cheapest preschool I found was $1600 a year and me and my husband are already drowning. I feel so depressed over this. I feel like a failure of a mother. Don't get me wrong the child's smart. He counts to 50 as well as knows his number by looking at them, knows his abcs, all his shapes and colors, can pick out the first letter in allot of words and so much more but I feel like he's losing out on the kid interaction.

My 3 year old is in school and she loves it but its free where I live. I hope you figure out something for him. If not, he doesn't have that long before he'll be ablt to go to kindergarten.

I am going through the same issue with my almost 4 year old. There are programs here but he doesn't make the cut off because his birthday is in Oct. We had him in preschool about a year ago but then we had to start paying for our health insurance out of pocket because my fiance got a better job and our income was to high for state health insurance. It breaks my heart because he wants to go back so bad.

No not were I live. It even is as bad as if I want to send him to kindergarten full time instead of part time it is $1200 mind you for public kindergarden. I feel so pathetic but I can't stop crying. I have always said I was going to send him and want to so badly. I dreamed of the day. I feel horrible because my nephew who is 9 months younger than him is starting and he cant. Theirs is only 50 a month though and his mommy stays home. They live 2 hours away though.

Do they have public pre-k programs? I sent my son and it was free. Pre-k really helped get him ready for kindergarten.  First grade starts in a few days and he is already almost a 2nd grade reading level and top of his class in math. School seems to be able to teach more than I can at home.  Good luck!
