I did take a class from my local hospital as part of a series of pre-natal classes with my first pregnancy. It seemed like it was more geared to talking people in to trying it than to provide concrete advice. To be honest, I think it's a bit hard to provide much productive support/advice until your breastfeeding partner is here. That's what I found at least!
I couldn't find any classes on breastfeeding in my area but I did find a local Le Leche League group and it's all about breastfeeding. You can look for a group in your area.

You can look up and see if there is one in your area. They were a great support for me. I was not able to get my daughter to latch on till she was 3.5 months old. I pumped until then.
I nursed my son a year, its the best thing you can do for your baby. I never took a class the nurses at the hospital help you get started, then its very natural :)
