thank you. i talked it over with my midwife. i work in retail, so it might be the better choice to get one at my next appt.
Do your research and ask your doctor for more info. I personally have chosen to get both shots. You have to weigh up the risks yourself your baby is unprotected from illnesses until first shots at 6 weeks so you need to ask your yourself is it worth the risk when there are vaccines available
Talk it over with your doctor. The flu has been known to kill pregnant women, the elderly, and babies. But if you have ever had an egg allergy, the flu shot is not suggested. Whooping cough is becoming epidemic in some places, babies are at the most serious risk. One way to protect your baby from whooping cough is to not get it yourself. You should talk it all over with your doctor. I didn't hesitate to get the flu shot when pregnant and had no side effects; I got the whooping cough vaccine right after the baby was born. For every person who goes on the Internet and says shots are some kind of government plot to control the population or that they got sick from the shot, there is someone grieving a loss that could have been prevented by vaccinating.
If you don't feel comfortable with getting the shot then don't. There is no rule that says you have to. I didn't get one. I have never gotten a flu shot and I never will, they affect my mom badly to where she has been hospitalized twice for getting the shot. I'm not taking that chance and she never took the chance with us either and when I was younger u never got them either. So I say if you don't feel comfortable then don't it's up to you and no one else. :)
