My doctor told me I have to have caffeine at least once a day because I am addicted to it and so I have a glass of either coke or coffee a day or I will get sick. Drinking tea lowers your iron so I'd watch how much tea you drink but you will be fine unless your doctor says you can't. Your mom probably says that because back when she was pregnant they was told they can't have any of that stuff but now days they know for sure its not gonna hurt your child

Caffeine is perfectly fine, and you can have more than you think. :) There's a chart in my What To Expect When You're Expecting book I'll copy down for you...

You can have up to 200mg a day.

A cup of brewed coffee (8oz) is 135mg
1 cup instant is 95mg
1 cup decaf is 5mg
6oz caffe latte/cappuchino is 90mg
1oz espresso is 90mg
1 cup tea is 40-60mg (green has less than black)
1 can of cola (12oz) is 35mg, diet is 45mg
1oz milk chocolate is 6mg, dark chocolate is 20mg
1 cup chocolate milk is 5mg
8oz coffee ice cream is 40-80mg

Yes you can have caffeine. It's not the best thing in the world but drs agree you can safely have 200mg-300mgs a day. That equals about one or two cups of coffee depending on size and strength.
