c section by choice

Is there a such thing as an elective c section?

My mum had 4 babies, all 10 pounds without problems. Due to the complications I mentioned before and as this is my last baby I will never experience a vaginal birth but I'm ok with that. I've had a lot of surgeries and the csection was by far the best. But at the end of the day, how you deliver your baby is like how you feed your baby, its completely a personal choice and you've got to do what suits you and your situation- all anyone wants is a healthy bub and a happy mum however you choose to achieve it.

Youll be surprised at how amazing your body is.  And how much you can stretch lol seems weird saying that lol. My sister is 5'3 and weighed about 130 at end of pregnancy. She had a 10 pound healthy boy and he didn't get stuck at all. Idk if your doctor will or not. I personally wouldn't want to go thru surgery, but it's up to you. It's Def not the easy way out. That's rude to say.

C section or vaginal.
After having a c section i  like the idea of healing an abdominal wound then a vaginal wound but thats just me. I bounced back after a week or so. But everyine handles things differently

If you have private health insurance in Australia you can choose to have one but you still have to find a dr that is willing to do elective csections. If you go through the public system you don't really get a choice. With my firsy I had preeclamplsia and went into my drs one day and he said you're having a csection at in 2hrs. It wasn't considered an emergency csection because they didn't put me under a general but an induction was considered unsafe due to my health and dangerous bp, therefore all my paperwork says elective. This time I have preeclamplsia again so I know it will be another csection but not sure when and as I don't want to try for a vbac it will be considered an elective again.

I have had 2 c sections they are no fun it hurts 10× worse than natural birth so unless medically necessary I would just go until drs say otherwise no matter how little your body is we were all designed for birth good luck...

I personally want to have a natural delivery. If shes too big or if theres a reason my doctor thinks a c-section is necessary than ok im prepared for that. Otherwise I want to be in control of the whole thing

My recovery was horrible after and I'm dreading my repeat. The pain was unbearable for me but it's different for each woman.

Girl im praying to have my baby natural. Theres a chance I might have a c section.  Either way I have to wait and see. I don't want no csection. It's Incredible how some women want the easy way out and rather have a c section I hope god gives me an
chance  to have her natural

There are women who are choosing to have c sections especially in NYC I guess they just want the easy way out instead of going thru the pain of labor. I could never imagine choosing it tho lol sounds crazy.

I live in Florida and there's no option.. Its if its medically needed. I had one and I will be having a repeat because my doctor doesn't do VBAC.

My cousin wasn't allowed at first, but once she hit her due date, she demanded it. They did the c section but I think it was more because she was at her due date than anything else.

It depends on ur doctor.  If u have a private doctor u could have the option of csection (since you will be paying). As for the postpartum pain, not all mothers recover the same so there's no telling if it's worth it or not

babyjake, exactly...that is a medical reason. lol. if you've had one c section you are most likely to have another the second time.

No and trust me you dont want one. I'm having my second soon and with my first one I was in pain still after a full month. Its not worth it.

Or depends on the reason.  I've been given the option as im 4 1/2 months pregnant now but I have a 5 1/2 month old baby already.  Only reason is because I had to have a emergency c section with my baby so now if I go natural delivery theris chance of my scar ripping open... if that makes sense x

Most doctors will not perform a c section without it being medically necessary, no. And honestly I don't know why anyone would choose that.
