caffine while breastfeeding

Im pregnant and still have breastfeeding questions. I drink 2 cans of soda a day, sometimes 3 but thats only once or twice a week. I dont drink coffee, tea or anythinh else with caffine. I drink atleast one glass juice and milk a day plus my 2-3 cans of soda a day. Will this be ok once baby is here if i decide to breastfeed or can caffine hurt the baby?

I am working on goin to 1 can of soda a day, its just hard because i get really bad migranes without my soda. I went from 6 cans a day to 2-3 a day so i think ive made progress lol.
All advice on my question is appreciated:)

I did the same thing with my dd. I am a pepsi nut. I too had 1-3 can during pregnancy and did the same after. It actually wasnt until years later did I realize what I was doing while breastfeeding. When my dd got to be about 3-4 years old and if she had a sode she went spazmatic, than it dond on me that when she was a baby she would stay up all night and I couldnt figure out why. I would drink a pepsi to try to stay away and what was she doing, drinking the breast milk that had caffeine in it and I think thats why she wouldnt sleep well. My advice to you would be if you keep drinking the caffine while breast feeding I would drink twice as much of something else like milk or juice. Caffeine sure doesnt help with milk production and I also learned that from experience. Good luck, I hope you have better luck breastfeeding than I did

my son couldn't handle the caffeine.  I had to quit completely because he would throw up everytime I fed him...like projectile.  once I quit the caffeine he barely even spit up.  just make sure you are drinking lots of water like the others said.

Watch the high fructose corn syrup, though.  There are the equivalent of something like 12 teaspoons of sugar in one can of soda.

The caffine in the pop will be in your breastmilk but it won't be too much by the sounds of it..if you stay away from other sources of caffine you should be fine..plus you will need to drink lots of water while breastfeeding..and even now while pregnant water is essential..;-)
