can someone please help me:/?

In YOUR own opinion, can you please let me know which last name you think has more priority? My son is more than likely going to be named caleb sawyer, or caleb eli, but my last name is acosta. And his father is hattje... I wanted to hyphenate hattje since his dad isnt gonna be in the picture,  but adding it for other reasons. Which one is really of more importance...I want him to sign things as caleb acosta... idk which one I should hyphenate... whats YOUR opinion(:?

My last name is dodson-hudson and I always use Hudson. It's my dad's last name so my mom stick it on the end I've always hated having two last names lol I forget about it on paperwork and have to correct it all the time! So if you put your last name after the hyphen I think it will get used more but my doctors always pull my name up by Dodson

Personally if the dad's not in the picture then dot give him that name because it could cause confusion and pain (later in life) when I was adopted at 9years from my birth parents I was happy to have a new family and they never gave me their last name and it hurt that I was a Thompson and they weren't it was hard to explain in school why my mommy had a different last name then I did
