I called Medicaid myself & I don't know why different people have different info but unless the doctor can prove that the circumcision will cause a medical condition in the baby, Medicaid does not cover the cost of circumcision anymore.
Thanks, I surely will inquire about it at my next appt because they have me a paper to sign 2 weeks ago & printed on there says Medicaid does not cover it so am I electing to waive the procedure or pay out of pocket.
It does. I called and asked specifically. It is covered by medicaid. Thats a federal program just under different names in the states. I was also informed by a mother in Missouri and in oklahoma they were told the same thing in July.
Three years ago the cost where I am was $350 and I know it's gone up since then but I don't know by how much.
Mamacub23 it depends where you are. In NJ its just about always covered by almost all insurances.
Insurance doesn't cover it. It's considered a cosmetic procedure. Cost me $200 at my sons pediatricians office.
Ask your insurance people they should tell u what they cover
I definitely need to check into this because I have pregnancy Medicaid & 2 weeks ago was told it is no longer covered by Medicaid & to prepare to pay $350 for his circumcision.
If access is medicaid they changed it like 2 months ago to where if you have medicaid the hospital assumes baby will be approved foe medicaid and the procedure done right there is free bc the babys medicaid now covers it.
Chandler regional told me it typically costs around $200 when I went for the hospital tour.
Hmm. Im in Fl I have medicaid and im paying $200 for his
Are you having it done in the hospital or by the pediatrician?
