Im 5w 3days and I think I may be getting a cold sore on my lip.... ive never had one and neither has my partner so I'm not sure how I may have got it. Is it a symptom of presgnancy, and how can I stop it before it gets worse. It taste silvery and kinda tingles. My mum gets them but I havent been in contact with her for a while.

I got cold sores a lot as a little girl and I've been getting them throughout my pregnancy. My doctor prescribed me valtrex a long time ago which is safe to take while pregnant so my ob just renewed the prescription for me.

its a worry if u have Genital herpes n ure having an outbreak. But shes saying shes having one on her lips. Yes their a virus but theres no way to get ride of a virus. She could have complications from having a genital outbreak n is abt to give birth but theres no complications with having a lil outbreak on ure lip. Their diff types. Honey look just ask ure doc n theyll tell u cz theres nothing they can give u for ure cold sore theyll just tell u not to mess with it n buy abreva its nothing to worry abt or get stressed over. As long as u dont mess with it n put medicine on it ull be fine it will go away.

True get it checked out but a cold sore doesnt necessarily mean u have genital/std herpes.

First off herpes is not hereditary, it is a virus you come in contact with. Second of all I would definatly get in contact with your ob because there are "possible" complications that can occur in pregnancy if it is your first outbreak. I think its more if it is genital herpes and more if you are late in your pregnancy but I am not positive. I know this because I just recently had my first outbreak ever on my lip. I went to the doctor and she said it was a good thing that my daughter had been born before it. I'm not trying to scare you or anything but I would rather worry you a bit and have you get it checked out, than have you get bad info and think your fine and have problems in the long run.

I have gotten cold sores since i was a lil girl if u leave them alone they will go away i would get them when my lips were real chapped from the cold when i was stressed out or when i got my period before being pregnant... they are hereditary but not everyone gets them

Cold sores are herpes but not like the std. Its a low grade type and everyone has the herpe strain or whatever its called in them. I get them when i get sick or when its dry. It could just be genitically from yr mom and ur just now getting one. Abreva i heard is rlly good but its too expensive for me so i always get campho phenique...just dont mess with it itll get worse if u do and keep it clean with medicine on it
