I had all the pregnancy symptoms before, late periods, sore breasts, I could smell things a mile away I was convinced I was pregnant but many tests later they found out I just had a really bad yeast infection.

Yeast infection was one of my first signs of pregnancy. Due to hormone changes and all but I got my positive a day after my period was due. I took like 3 before then and they were neg. Could u be off a few days on when ur period is suppose to start?

Yes they can. I've been given nagative test results 2 out of 4 pregnancies.  I was so convinced I was pregnant that I requested a blood pg test right after I got the nagative urine test and THAT was nagative. Well, I'm nine months along right now so the answer is yes, they can. I've found that home pregnancy tests are much more reliable than the doctors tests. That's how I found out I was pregnant with all 4 of my kids.. even when the doctors tests said nagative.

No. They are usually pretty accurate.
The infection could have cause a situation with your period.
It could just be late
