It's definitely better to get a dog that is already trained unless your s.o. wants to take care of the training. My fiance and I have two nine year old dogs, fully trained, and we can't wait to bring home our baby to meet his/her new furry friends.
Nevermind that the first few weeks they cry at night and wanna be held i dont think neither of u will be in the mood
I got a german Shepard shes 7 months now and im 35 wks pregnant i recommend u dont get it puppy is so much work and patience u do not want extra baggae to carry i had to take her for walks, potty train her, clean her poop AND pee which i was stepping on everywhere, and wen she was about 5 months she started really being a pain in the butt. Shes a really good girl now but she's staying with my s.i.l. bcus it definitely wont go good when baby is here. Good luck
Small to medium size is best if its an indoor dog. Wouldn't recommend a puppy & infant at same time bc both are needy & a lot of work. Youll be exhausted. Maybe wait til the baby is at least 6 months
I got a st Bernard for my son lol so my kids have a horse they cant hurt.
Compromise... something that you both will be OK with and just make sure when you get the dog to bond with it as well :)
ugh im on the same boat as you he wants a puppy for when babys born so they can both grow up together but i dont want one but we havent made are mind up yet but i think we might end up getting the puppy
