i got and ultrasound to weigh my boy he weighed perfect for his age i noe some doctors have the gift and are super accurate with weight byt as for the position some doctors could tell you but at the end they should start checking the position i saw my baby yesterday hes head down. and was covering his face lol
Sorry my phone posted half way thought...
Your midwife will measure your tummy, and feel around, if your measurements are what they should be then that's great, if your measuring small or big then they may offer you extra scans (growth scans) to monitor babies growth. There isn't really anyway for them to know for sure without ultrasounds but they do have ways of checking. (As regards to babies weight, even on an ultrasound that's an estimate and isn't as accurate as you would think).
In the UK they don't give you ultrasounds after 20 weeks, unless there is something wrong or they want to monitor you closely.
Yikes so I could be having like a 10lb baby thinking I'm having a 6-7lb baby haha
I asked my doctor how much he weighed and she just felt around and said usually they just guess without an ultrasound
