do i have to have a catheter during labor ?????

the last time i had a catheter was when i was 5 months pregnant and that crap hurt like heck after they took it out i couldnt pee for 8 hours it was so painful when i tried to push my pee out plus when i wiped it was little blood on my tissue and i was in pain everytime i peed for 2 weeks and i don't want to go through that again like dont i have rights cant i refuse to get one ??????

I just looked it up on YouTube the procedure in now I'm scared. Smh I need to stay away from YouTube nothing good ever comes out of it.

oh ok and i read that all the doctors have to do is monitor your pee patterns and they can help you go to the bathroom with the pee pail but they don't tell you that cause they didnt really want to do it

If you get an epidural then you should being getting a catheter because you can not get up to use the bathroom

With both my labors with epidurals they did a catheter.  It does hurt to pee after but if you use the Squirt bottle with warm water while you pee, it helps Alot!

I didn't use a catheter. They probably should have but the didn't.

I had an epidural with my first two pregnancies,  but they only did the catheter for the second one, because I needed to pee but couldn't.  I think it depends on your labor.

I believe if you have an epidural you need a catheter since you have no sensation.
