does my ex really need to know I'm pregnant? he's not the father

I am in the process of talking to a lawyer to divorce my husband. We've been separated for about 8 months, I found out after being with him almost 10yrs that he has a thing for young call girls. I've moved on to another relationship and I'm 19w 5d. My lawyer is telling me that be has to put that I'm pregnant in the divorce papers but I don't think it's any of my ex's business. Him and I haven't had sex in way more than a year so there is absolutely no chance of the baby being his but my lawyer insists that he has to tell him. Is this true? Or should I get another lawyer?

Thanks ladies :-) I'm from IL, I just dont want him to know first because we've both moved on with our lives and it's not his business, and also I'm worried that he won't agree to my divorce terms to take my name off the mortgage. We've been  friendly up until this point and I don't want him to be uncooperative. We haven't even spoken over the phone in over 2 months, only texting....I'm going to try another lawyer...thanks again!

Here in ky they won't even allow you to get a divorce if you are pregnant, but I would call up another lawyer and see what they say. And if they say it isn't mandatory then maybe having someone else go with you will work. BUT if you are already like 20 weeks then by the time your court date gets here you are going to be super pregnant or have a newborn so he is going to know anyway.

Idk if its a must but my sister had too because they were still married and they told her he had the right to know and ask for a DNA test.
He didn't want to take the test though because they didn't see each other for over a year.
I have no idea if every state is different but before you switch laywer go ask a different lawyer see what they think.
Good Luck!

The lawyer probably thinks there is a chance the baby could be his and you are just saying its not. I would probably consider another lawyer if things dont change. Good luck.

I would go talk to another lawyer about it first and if they say you dont have to tell him then I would find a new lawyer.
