dog and baby

I have a small dog, (about 15 pounds) & for the last year I've had him he's been like a baby to me. He goes everywhere I go and is basically attatched  to my hip at home. I'm afraid of how he might act when I bring my daughter home. How did you all introduce your pets to your new babies ? Should I keep them separated or allow him to "sniff her out" ?

I got my dog a few months before i had my son, i let her sniff him, still cuddled with her, but let her know to be careful around the baby.. my son is now 3 and a half years old and my dog is 4. They grew up together.. its alot easier than what it seems in the beginning

Let him sniff her for sure, make sure you make him feel included otherwise he will get jealous.. If you let him be around her he should be fine, don't make her room out of bounds or anything (unless she's asleep obviously) don't leave them alone together though just in case, but if you let him be around her then after a while he will get used to her :)
