Even your Dr says its okay, just not in the first trimester. Call your Dr if your not sure
I dont think its worth it to find out honestly.. wouldnt you rather just wait it out its better to be safe than sorry and dying your hair over your babys safety is a pretty easy decision i think.. not trying to be rude just sayin.
Thank you for your help! :)
Hi dawnliawellls,
am a cosmetologist and its perfectly safe ive also colored my hair and i was 10weeks when i had my permanent color done.
Whenever we get a pregnant client we tell them what might happen if we do any chemicals.
Like if she wants a perm- the perm solution might not take it
Color- might not be the desired level you want like me i wanted my natural but came out a little darker.
Highlights- it problaly womt lift at all or wont lift at your desired level you wanted.
So we always tell them before we start their service and see if they want to continue or go shades lighter than her natural level or if highlights have to come again. Just depends on horomones on how your hair will react.
because sometimes women have straight and when their pregnant it gets curly or their haircolor changed. Hope this has helped:)
Thanks everyone. Its just a full head of colour not bleach so I assumed it would be okay :)
Dying your hair is perfectly safe. The chemicals won't be absorbed into your scalp, contrary to belief. Just make sure you are in a well ventilated area and if you can, buy an amonia free dye. I've dyed my hair multiple times during pregnancy. My doctor even says it's perfectly safe.
If you use a semi permanent colour rather than a permanent colour than you will be fine and you have nothing to worry about, just steer clear from permanent colouring and ones with ammonia in them, semi permanent dont have as many chemicals in them and dont soak into your skin (I have asked my dr and a hairdresser)
Honey.. I'm 36 weeks pregnant I've dyed my hair 4 times this whole pregnancy I had an ultrasound and my baby is completely fine and healthy. Just be in a well ventilated area :) you will be fine.
I don't think it will hurt the baby... But then again the chemical so I have no clue..
