epidurals

Ok so me and my bbyfava just got into a argument mentioned because I want to have a natural water birth & he said I was stupid for doing it and I don't think I am but anyway I read that epidurals put stress on the baby either way a water birth is what I'm going to do its my body and my baby!

May you both should sit down and do research on both. If you approach it in a way where you come to him and say let's research it and then decide. He will most likely see that there is nothing wrong with a natural water birth. My husband wanted me to get an epidural I'm pretty sure but we sat down and researched it he is totally for a natural birth now.

No problem. There is a documentary called Orgasmic Birth that is really informative. There are a lot of births shown in it so a lot of nipples, but its really great info.

I would tell him to mind his own business its you going through the labour not him and if you want a water birth he should be calling you stupid thats for sure, just let him know that its great for the positioning for the baby for birth, great pain relief, less likey to need an epesiotomy (sp), less likey to need intervention , the list goes on, also let fly with an epidural wont help baby get into optimum position, more likely to need an epesiotomy (sp), intervention, including forceps, c-section etc, plenty of reasons to have a waterbirth I would say !!!  :)

Its your choice and what ever you decide. If your at the hospital and decide to go the other way you can do so. I wanted natural birth and was terrified of getting an epidural but by the time I dialated at 4cm I was begging for it. I started shaking and my blood pressure went through the roof cuz I waited through the pain as long as I could. As soon as I got it I was able to talk and I wasnt suffering anymore witch aloud me to enjoy my birth alot more. My baby was fine after. I had an epidural with all of mu children cuz for me labor was just to much. But every mothers body is different and it might be a great experiance for you. Just a perk about an epideral aswell your not extremly exahausted after.
