excruciating pain. experienced mom's help

I am experiencing excruciating pain on boob when I breast feed. My nipples are not cracker or sore. Have been breast feeding for the past 6 days. I talked to a lactation consultant and she assured me that I was doing it right. I know he is latching good but when he feeds it hurts so much I want to cry. Is this normal?

It is comletely normal unfortunately;( I have had two babies I have breast fed till 18 months each.  Both times there was a lot of pain and tears for first couple months, then it finally subsides. My three sisters have all experienced the same pain at first and yes we have all seen lactation specialists. Keep it up and pain will go away! Good luck

Im a ftm and still pregnant with my baby boy. But i went to a breast feeding class and they said that when it hurts is because they are not latching correctly. Try making your baby latch as much as possible to your breast not just the nipple. But keep his little nose open.
