Car seats

My husband & I have been arguing nonstop lately. His mother offered to buy us a car seat, stoller combo from someone for 5.25. I immediately said no because I don't know if it's new or been in an accident. I'm sure a new car seat isn't going to be 5.25. I tried to explain my concern but he wouldn't listen. So I put my foot down which led to arguments. I understand that you need a new car seat to bring the baby home but you can use a non expired one tgat hasn't been in an accident. Does that make me ungrateful because I want the car seat new so I know?

I didn't even use my daughters car seat for this baby.

Not at all. My doctor even told me that if you get everything used the ONE thing you NEED to buy NEW is the car seat, because you don't know if it has been in an accident, and you also don't know if they washed the straps which takes the fire resistant stuff off which also makes it unsafe.

No I don't think so. My cousin gave me her old car seat... which is only a couple years old, but I'm not using it as my " main" one.  It's gonna be used as a back up. I'm the same way. I wanted a new carseat and stroller for my little one,  so I bought the one I wanted. As a new mom,  I'm just cautious and would rather have a new carseat.

It's safer to get a new one that has no history, why risk the safety of y your baby? u Think you're right putting your foot down, I would have too.

Not at all I wouldn't get one from anyone either I have to buy it from a store so I know its new and safe plus they want to little for that something isn't right
