feeling alone...):

So im a single mom and im pregnant with my first child and the father hasnt been present at all during my pregnancy but Ive been feeling alone and ive been thinking of inding someone. But the thing is I dont want someone to father my child thats my job, I just want someone there by my side for emotional support and to be there. I have family support but I feel like its not the same as what I want. But when I talk about it I get the speech from people saying I need to take care of my baby and I get that but why is it a bad thing to want affection or something along those lines...

Fathering your child is not your job. Mothering is. I understand that sometimes a mom has to play the role of both mother and father and it's hard. When my mom did my dad had to stop being just a dad and take on all the duties that my mom did. He did a great job. But if you have the opportunity and the right guy who will love your child the way he loves you than why not let him farther your child? It gets tricky and it's always easier when you have someone by your side. Being a father isn't about blood, it's about love. There is nothing wrong with you trying to find someone for the two of you. You can be a mother and a father all you want, but no matter what your child will need a "father figure" in his/her life.
