You may want to call a RE and schedule an appointment. They may not make you wait the 12 months due to your age and the age of your husband. I would just to get a jump start. I am sure you are aware, the older we get, the more complicated pregnancy can get. Good luck and keep us posted!
I am so sorry for your loss!
There is a 35+ maternal and child forum that might be able to answer your questions better. I couple of people over there are in their 40's and pregnant.
Im so sorry for your loss......
If you and hubby are willing to try again I say why not get a jump start and see a specialist! Good Luck
I'm sorry for what you are going thru....I had a missed miscarriage of twins with a D&C (I know it's different than a D&E), and I'm 34 now.....I asked about seeing a specialist b/c I'm technically "old" (LOL), and they said no......They only told us to wait 3 months before trying again b/c if I was to conceive prior to that they were afraid that the new embryo may implant in the same place as one of the twins had, therefore increasing risk of M/C again. i told them that I wasn't going to wait (due to my age and having no children) and that I would risk it. It ended up taking 3 months anyway to get pregnant again so it worked out well actually. (I'm 37 weeks now)
I believe that after a M/C followed by a D&C or D&E they automatically perform a pathology test to see if there was any obvious reason for the loss (i.e. genetic).....if your Dr. didn't mention that to you, you may want to call and ask if they did it (although I think that they can only do that if there is some of the embryo/fetus left in the uterus).
On the other hand, given your age, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to contact a fertility expert to get started again or at least get some input on when to start trying again, etc etc.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss and lots of luck!
