Of course it hurts. It's the hardest thing I ever did but also the most empowering. I had a natural birth with my son - 21 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing. No drugs, no IV fluids, nothing. It's not easy and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. But I have never felt so strong in my entire life. Totally worth it. Now I know that no matter what, I can do anything. And I can't wait to do it again.
Take birthing classes. Check out lamaze and hypnobabies and breathing exercises and meditation. Read the Birth Without Fear blog. Believe in yourself. Develop a birth plan and talk with your doctor about it. Make sure your partner or support person understands and supports you.
I'm 18 +4 with my first and I am really scared too. Just have to remember the end result
Dont worry! I am a ftm as well, but I guess women wouldnt be doing it for so long if the pain was unberable.. : ) try to focus on smth else till your due date!
Im sure you will do fine no one can tell you how its going to feel because everyone is different I had back contractions that weren't even registering on there monitors till I told them and by then they came on so fast and strong about 1-2 min apart lasting 1min but it wasn't unbearable but then I also had a c-section so I have no idea how far I was dilated or if the pain was going to get worse
