Mine was positive with this pregnancy and our baby girl arrived in the back of an ambulance so I didn't get any antibiotics. My water broke with one contravtion and she was out with the next almost a minute later.  She's been tested and given antibiotics and my little girl is doing great. They're saying we will most likely go home today...everything will be fine. Good luck.

I tested positive and it wasn't a big deal at all. had to stay in the hospital 48 hrs instead of 24 and got iv antibiotics when labor started... everything was perfectly fine. I have a totally happy/bratty 2 1/2 yr old :)

Dont worry about resuts. I tested positive with my first and was administered antibiotics thru iv. It wasnt a big deal at all so dont fret about it:)

My Dr only does the vaginal one, and then doesn't tell you until your next appointment

I really didn't feel anything during mine, and my doctor only swabbed vaginally, when I guess some even do a rectal swab. If you get the test done during the week, you could try to call in two days, if not even the next day. Or see if they'll call you and ask them how long til you'll hear back. Mine was done on a Friday morning, and I called Monday and they already had my results and I was negative luckily. So maybe even the next day they will know.

Good luck!

There's nothing to it! They just swab down there and around your bottom and its over with.
