When I was checked last week I was dilated to 1 and 50% effaced so I hope I'm a bit more to help with the labor then
I was induced with my first using cervadil (the IV medication is Pitocin, and there is also a gel but I can't remember what it's called). It was less than 24 hours total for me; I went in at 9 pm (no sign of labor - I was overdue) on a Monday, and my daughter was born at 7:09 pm Tuesday. I did not get the epidural and I did deliver vaginally. It definitely hurt, but I haven't done a fully natural birth (yet!) so I can't say if it really is worse. But I keep hearing that going into labor naturally is easier and less painful. When I was induced my contractions were damned near constant so I believe it.
I'm a FTM but by the time I was a 2 they had my contractions 30 seconds apart and I was screaming. They couldn't ever even them out
It didn't hurt me more when I was induced but I was dialated to about 1 or 2 before they ever started induction
I'm in so much pain that I'm almost begging to be induced and I'm 39+2 weeks. My doctor refuses to so I just have to sit and wait in pain... :(
Does it hurt more when your induced? I heard that before...
Ya I like the fact I will know when I'm going to have her but the labor seems so much longer :(
Oh I was also 42 weeksish. I say ish cause I believe I was more like 41
I was induced last Thursday. I came in at 6 am at 0 cm. They started pitocin at 8. By 11 I was a 1 and the made my water leak, it didn't break all the way. By 3 I was a 2 and really in pain I had the epidural. Her rate rate wasn't stable and by 430 I was being prepped fora c section. At 520 pm my beautiful baby girl was born
After I started having some light to moderate contractions, upped my dosage, them waited a few hours for my body to respond, I was finally dilated to a 5 and they have me the epidural and broke my water (felt nothing), then i started dilating like a professional lol. Once I was at a10 it was pushing time, pushed for 3 hours and ended up having a csection because he was so big. Honestly, getting induced was waaay easier to me then waiting at home with no doctor to keep checking on me. Plus, you get to hear your babys heart beat the entire time =)
I was induced with my first one. They put in an IV and then you wait. It took almost 14 hours before anything happened with me. It's really not scary once it is happening.
