Given a date for induction

I had a growth scan today and they told me that my baby boy weighs approx 10lbs (I'm 37+4 weeks) my due date is 8th January and they are going to induce me on the 15th January Ifhe hasn't come before then but I really don't think I can go that long, he's already big at 37 weeks never mind 41 weeks, is there anything I can do to try and bring on labour a little earlier?? Thanks xx

Even if the scans are wrong he's still high of 9lbs which is big! They did at it was approx which I said in my first post. I had a midwife appointment today and she said his head has dropped and he's 3/5's of the way down so hopefully won't be long, I've got a sweep booked for on my due date but she said to try natural methods to get labour started xx

Those scans are often very wrong. They are usually high by up to 2 pounds.

Gosh they are waiting a bit considering his size but try sex. Pineapples & bouncing on birthing ball may help you but they haven't helped me.

I'm being induced at 39 weeks because my baby girl is big. She's not 10 pounds, but she's 54% above average weight.

Thank you, I know I would have thought they would induce me earlier but because the baby is quite happy in there then they are going to induce me at 41 weeks, I think also I haven't got any excess fluid either so it's all baby. Fingers crossed I can get him to go into labour by himself as I really don't think I can wait until 41 weeks lol xx

Wow I can't believe they are waiting til 41 weeks! Normally if baby is measuring that big at 37 they will induce at 39. But some things to try are sex, walking, squats, wall sits, bouncing on birthing ball or edge of bed, 1/2 a cup of 100% orange juice with 1/2 a cup of milk,(worked for my mom cousin and best friend within 24hours, did not work for me yet.... Going to try again tonight. Hope this helps you and good luck!
