help, im sick and 16weeks pregnant

Hi everyone!

I went to the ER yesterday because i thought i was getting the flu and strep throat, but according to their tests they both came negative. Well, the doc decided to give me the tamiflu and other medicine for bronchitis. They didn't do a chest xray because im 16 weeks pregnant, but because of my bath cough. No fever-- but everything did come up, water, oj, fruit and yogurt. I'm really worried because i want my baby to be healthy, any suggestions on how to get rid of the cough the cough naturally?  I am taking the meds, but im worry it might harm the baby has anyone experienced this before and were your babies fine? How long did it take to get better?

The only thing that worked for me was steaming the bathroom, vicks vapor rub on my chest and feet with socks, a humidifier and gargling with good ole fashion warm salt water. Shockingly,  I got better faster the natural way than I normally do when I can take meds. Feel better and best wishes...be consistent with the above and you'll be better in no time.

If the doctor was aware you were pregnant they wouldn't assign anything that is harmful for the baby. Taking tamiflu as a preventative measure will cause less harm than the actual flu would. I would talk to a pharmacist though, if it's just a cough then they might be able to point you in the direction of the safest cough medicine.

I know lemon and honey always help with my sore throat and coughs. But that might not help depending on how bad the cough is.
