8 weeks and no heartbeat

My niece went to the ER today and found out she was 8 weeks pregnant but they didn't see a heartbeat. I guess they told her that the baby should pass thru on its on if not in 3 days go back to the ER. My question is has anyone been thru this or know someone that has and baby ended up being OK should she get a second opinion from somewhere else

I didn't have a heartbeat either with my second pregnancy and I was almost 9 weeks. I passed the baby that same night bc I began bleeding. It's most likely too late if u didn't see one.

If they did an ultrasound they r probably right when i was nine weeks with my second pregnancy my baby had no heartbeat nd had calcium build up around it...id say get an ultrasound to b sure but sometimes u have to have a d&c to have the baby removed that's what i had :/ very hard to handle but I've had three miscarriages nd my doctor is finally able to keep the baby alive with this one cause we found out what was wrong with me I'm sorry but it might just be too late

Oh and by the way she used one of the websites and by her last period she thought she was about 12 weeks but they said 8 weeks and no heartbeat
