I know its weird, but i gotta ask(:
Thanks again!!
It's a little intimidating to talk to a male person of authority about maternity leave, I know. It was soooo awkward telling my boss I was pregnant. I'm the first pregnant woman he has had in his work group in 13 years. But, he should at least be able to give you a name. :)
Yeah i have a man boss but im scared to ask! But thanks ima talk to him(:
If your HR person isn't there, try your boss. They would at least be able to aim you in the right direction of who to talk to about it. But, if you have a man for a boss, they probably won't know much about it. Mine sure doesn't.
So i would have to talk to my boss about maternity leave? I live in California
I live in Southern California, and I've been dumbfounded about the time I will take my maternity leave? When do people usually start it? My HR person broke their leg so they aren't there. But as I said I've only been working there since July... So I'm so confused! -_-
The law is you can get maternity leave for up to 12 weeks UNPAID...which simply means that by law you have A JOB when u g wet back- it does NOT guarantee the job tou currrently have..... but you will need to speak with your job/human resources to see what they offer in particular. My job offers paid-60% of my pay for 6 weeks. Every company is different and they are not breaking any laws by not paying you.
You don't get paid for it I have to use all my vacation time and sick days and personal days so I can even get a check
Only 3 states California, New Jersey, and Rhode Island offer Paid Family Leave. All other states must allow you to take time off and keep your job secure but will not pay you!
Talk to your HR department. For my company, I get 6 weeks (8 weeks for cesarean) of "paid leave" at 60%, except for the first week, I have to take it unpaid or vacation days. You'll most likely have to get a former filled out by your doctor's office for FMLA eligibility. Because you will be working less, your tax bracket might lower and you would receive more money in a check (due to less taxes). Each company and their policies are different. The Federal law requires company's to offer 12 weeks of unpaid leave. Some states have added to that, that companies must offer some paid leave, but Alabama is not one of those states. Talking to your HR rep will get you the most accurate information.
Yeah cuz somone told me i will get half of my check which nothing pretty much, im 31weeks!!
I was wondering the same... I work at kohls part time and started working there in July. I'm 28w6d
