My doctor tried to tell me I needed to wake my daughter ever two hrs to eat, my mom had 5 kids and said to never wake a baby to eat baby will wake up when hungry. I also asked another doctor and they said no need to wake a baby up if no medical issues. My daughter from first day born slept 5 hrs and after two weeks it was 8 hrs now at 2 years old 9 hours. I would say don't wake baby.
Don't wake baby up. You need sleep. Seriously, Unless you are told to, don't wake baby up.
My twin boys and my niece are exactly 4 weeks apart. The doctor told us both to wake up our babies every 2 hours to feed. I did but she didn't. My boys didn't sleep through the night and needed a middle of the night bottle until about 16 months! My niece slept through the night at 3 weeks! Unless there is a medical reason I wouldn't do it and I won't be waking this baby up to feed either.
My daughter woke up on her own every two hours to eat for the first two weeks. Now she's three weeks and sleeps about 4 hours at a time before she wakes up hungry. I let her sleep :) baby will let you know when it's hungry!
Most of the time they will wake themselves when they are hungry or need changed or both
With my first, I was determined to do everything by the book lol so I woke my son up everything two hours to feed him. My doctor said it wasn't bad to wake him up it was expected with a first time mom.
My baby is 5 pounds four ounces so I have to feed him every 3hrs
My daughter wakes up every two hrs anyways so I don't got to worry bout tht lol
If their dr hasn't said differently let that baby sleep.
Ask the pediatrician. Mine had me wake my daughter every 4 hours if she didn't on her own. After two weeks he said we could let her sleep through the night. Just depends on how they are doing, current weight, how they are eating, etc.
Sometimes it depends either your baby will let you know our you'll have to wake up every two hours. My daughter is 4 days old and she wakes up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours to eat. She ***** on her hand or smacks her lips to say she's hungry.
Unless there is some kind of medical issue, you don't wake the baby at night. They'll do that all on their own when hungry enough. You don't hear of too many babies having the problem of not waking up enough at night. :>) My second child was small and didn't gain weight initially that well, so they had me wake him for about 3 weeks and then told me to stop. He was getting up anyway so I can't say I actually ever woke him. good luck
