how many cm do you have to be

Before they will admit you into the hospital? And how many cm do u have to be before you are offered an epidural?

i think they only keep you if ur contracting, i was in labor for 4 days with my 3 and it was going soooo slow they didnt admit me until i was at a 6 with constant contractions.

When I had my son I went in at 3 cm with consistent contractions (had taken castor oil a few hours before lol) and was placed on a monitor for two hours and because I progressed to 4 cm they kept me. After my contractions stopped my Dr went ahead and induced me but I made it to 7 cm without an epidural but they left it up to me as to when I got it

I been at 2cm and 75% effaced for two weeks now so it can just be at a stand still but if your at 4 they might not unless you start having contractions every 3-4min and or your water breaks

The reason I'm asking is bc I went from thick and closed to 2cm and 50% in a week and my Dr said he doesn't think I'll make it to my due date..so I was wondering if I went on Monday to my normal weekly checkup and I'm 4 cm if they would like send me to the hospital and have me admitted?

My hospital will keep you if your 5-6 or more and they won't give you an epidural after 8 but you can always call them and ask
