Like all the other moms have said, it depends. I've had friends who have had vaginal deliveries and they only spent 1 night in the hospital. I'm a repeat c section, and the first two go arounds I've ended up staying 5 days afterwards. I know here c sections are pretty much an automatic 3 day stay... There's no leaving early LOL.

I had a 24 hour release each time. That was my birthing plan. You stay until the doctor clears you. It all depends on your circumstances.

I was in the hospital 5 days. The first 2 were spent in labor though and we had to stay 1 extra day so my little boy could get billi-light therapy.

My hospital planned for 2 days for virginal and 3 days for C section. Only if everything looks good with mom and baby of course.

It all depends on your recovery and the hospital. They do a few checks on you and baby before you leave so it depends on when the doctors and midwife are free to do it. Once they have checked you both over and are sure you are ok with feeding and looking after the baby you can leave. Its usually 1-2 nights with your first if you have had a normal delivery.

It depends on the delivery, and any complications after. My SIL was in the hospital 3 days after a vaginal delivery because she hemorhagged after, but most vaginal deliveries (depending on the time you deliver, etc) are one or two days, and most c-sections are 3-4. I was in the hospital 3 days after my c-section.
