Ok so we found out were having a girl, and we couldn't come to an agreement on names, so I said tara-rose which Tara is his mums name (in which she is very sick and doesn't live in the same country as him since he was 10 and now he is 20) and rose is my auntys name, I wanted a double barrel name anyway but I thought putting his mums name would be nice.. but now im having second thoughts about the name, but he seemed so happy about it, and I'm also having second thoughts about using his second name for her? What do I do? I feel so bad.. do I just suck it up or do I be honest? Ahhh! :(

I think you should use the name, its unfair to suggest it and then go back on your word. Its a lovely name :)

I disagree. If you really are having second thoughts on it then just think about it for a while. And if you really dont like it then change it. I would not name my child something that I have to quench my face every time I say it just to make someone else happy.

If you don't want to use that name then i don't think you should feel bad. Why don't you think about maybe using his mums name as a middle name then least you've still used it?

It's both mother and father rights to name the child. It took both of you to make the child so why would only one of you get the right to name the baby? I would suck it up. We are naming our son after my husband's dad and he lives right next door. And his middle name is his uncle's name and he lives next door on the opposite direction.
