I am also hypothyroid and 26 y/o. I think being hypothyroid makes it more difficult to conceive due to hormonal issues. I'm starting a saliva hormone test at home on the 17th b/c a doctor finally realized that my thyroid medication may not be doing it's job effectively due to an imbalance of hormones. We're thinking at the very least an estrogen dominance problem. If you cannot get pregnant, you may want to talk to your doctor about doing a saliva test at home. This way it tracks you throughout your cycle the whole month instead of a one time blood test. It's expensive, I paid $450 (no insurance) for my test kit and have to use it throughout my whole cycle but I expect it to give me answers that I have not been able to get thus far. It's a thorough test as it checks 3 types of estrogen, your DHEA levels, TSH levels, cortisol levels, Progesterone levels and multiple other hormone levels.
