Does anybody know any ways to induce labor that work? Also does anybody no how far past 40 weeks most drs let u go before making u be induced?

I agree with K! Castor oil can make baby have a bowel movement into the bag of water and then you would be looking at a nicu stay until the infection clears. 

Best ways for natural induction are looking at accupressure points, lots of walking, bouncing on a ball, lots of sex, spicy food, dancing, or even look up the recipe for something like labor pizza. (Theres a pizza place somewhere that makes a pizza and SEVERAL women who ate it have gone into labor within 48 hours!)

Castor oil can also make your baby have it's first BM in the womb, and cause an infection, therefore a nicu stay...it's not worth it, a healthy baby is definitely worth the wait.

None of us had any issues with our kids health or anything. My mother in law who is a nurse is the one who brang it to our attention. We did a full glass of orange juice mixed with what was the highest dose you take on the back. U just mix it in with the orange juice. You can find the oil at any pharmacy for about 4 bucks

I do NOT recommend caster oil. It carries high risk and threat due to dehydration (it causes in most people diarrhea, nausea/vomiting and cramps) which harms both the mother and child and more often than not doesn't work. Just makes you miserable.

How much castor oil did you mix with orange juice? Does it matter how much orange juice you mix it with?

Me and 3 of my sister in laws did the castor oil and all had our waters break and delivered the next day. The trick is to drink it with orange juice with lots of pulp. If it doesn't work in 8 hours you take it again. But what works for some does not work for others. Make sure you take a bath a few hours after taken it though so it can help jump start contractions

I am only 37 weeks and not rushing her out. But at our ultrasouns yesterday the girl said she is only 5 pounds. So i want her to stay in as lonf as possible and gain weight. My best friend is 39 weeks and trying everything to get her labor going so i thought id see if anybody had any ideas that worked.

in england they induce you at 2wks and offer you a sweep before that

My doctor wants his patients to be at least 41 weeks before inducing them. I tried using evening primrose vaginally- DIDN'T WORK!
I drank 2oz of castor oil-DIDN'T WORK!
Amazingly, sex did help me dilate half a cm and walking did help as well.

Generally they won't let you go more than 2 weeks past your due date. Has your doctor talked to you at all about induction? There are no real things you can do at home that will force baby to come early, beyond walking, sex, etc. Nothing is guaranteed though.
