I had to wait until a certain point to get the epidural and since I dilated so slowly I contracted for 24 hours straight with no pain meds other than a few iv pain reducers.

Everyone is different! I got induced last Friday and it definitely was NOT a piece of cake. My body did not like being forced into labor. I stopped dilating at 5 cm and had to get a c section. The worst part was I couldn't get up to walk around. I was stuck in bed with an iv. I had a balloon cathedar in my cervix that hurt like hell

No its actually a piece of cake.  All they do is give you something to jump start labor. Then you will feel the contractions then can get the epidural. When being induced you can pretty much know when the pains come along as to where going in labor on your own hurts worse
