is my future baby safe from the effects of roaccutane?

my wife is 23 years old and we are planning to have babies soon.
she was taking roaccutane and she stopped six months ago in June!!!!

the question is that if we decide to have a baby, would there there be any harm for the embryo?

pls keep in ur mind that after she stopped taking roaccutane, she did not go the hospital to do some tests to make sure everything is alright.

i am just worried, does she have to see a doctor in order to do some tests or there is no need since six months have passed. are these six months enough for the embryo to be safe and sound?

pls i need your feedback as soon as possible.

Six months period is enough so you shouldn't worry. I know the effects on a baby are super scary sounding but luckily it has been long enough that there is no problem. If you would feel better you can also confirm this with the OB and or you can call the products 800 number and ask them. They are usually really good at knowing what products are safe and if not how long to avoid them especially accutane bc it is known commonly as a no no during pregnancy im sure they get that question all the time. Good luck :)

Clysta,

i really thank you so much for ur reply. so what i can understand is that six months period is more than enough for a safe pregnancy.

as u said, i can call a doctor just to be in the safe side.

but i still need to know, do we need to do any tests in the hospital, or there is no need to do so??? i mean if we need to make sure that Reaccutane is gone from the blood, shall she do some tests in the hospital or six months period is enough for her???

If I remember, Accutane is gone from the blood in something like 12 days and has no effect on future pregnancies. You can always call a doctor to make sure though.
