The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding was my go to resource. It is produced by the La Leche League. I found a used copy on amazon for $1. I loved it and it helped me sooo much and I had endless questions. I didn't see a lactation consultant by my midwife was very helpful getting me started and I relied on my girlfriend's a great deal. La Leche is a great organization and I attended one of their meetings when I was pregnant in case I needed someone to come help me. They can be intense (in my opinion) but they are there to help.

Not just that a lot of hospitals offer a class before hand, wic offices, check and see if you have a local le leche league and if you do they will help you out.

Check with ur hospital. They may have a lactation consultant on staff. Mine did and she came in twice a day while we were there.
