Very confused

I am extremely confused as to what is going on and was hoping to find some answers. I have always had normal periods, always same time each month with the same symptoms, however on a few weeks ago I had unprotected sex  during my most vertile days of the month. I am a few days from starting my normal  period and for the last 5 days I have been experiencing menstrual cramps which has never has happened before my normal period. Is there any way I could be pregnant, and if not can someone please give a answer to why

Yes, anytime you have unprotected sex you can become pregnant. It is normal to have cramping before your period; you most likely notice it more prominently as you are paying close attention to your body and symptoms due to believing you could be pregnant.

You can use First Response as early as 5 days before your missed period. There are 2-packs (and even 3-packs) so you could test tomorrow and if negative retest when your period is actually due.
